Plan your vacation
Have you planned your yearly vacations yet? Have you sat down with your calendar and blocked your days off so that nothing can interfere with that downtime.
Have you conversed with your family members so that they do the same and so that you are all on the same page?
Taking a yearly vacation is a need, not a want, and those that don’t take their vacation time will surely feel lit somewhere down the line. If we don’t take care of ourselves, things don’t get taken care of and eventually our well being suffers. Working non stop and not taking those vacation days properly will surely lead to depletion.
Do you have to spend thousands of dollars and get away? You could, but it's not necessary. If all you can afford this year is a staycation, then by all means take one and discover your local community through vacationing eyes. The point of a vacation is not working. As long as you take time away from work, you should rest enough before you have to enter the workforce again.
That being said, sometimes we tend to schedule our staycations with appointments and to do lists. If you feel you are one of those people, try to pull back on getting things done and instead try doing nothing but relax. A vacation spent getting things done will only allow for half of you to be ready to return to the workforce.
Whichever vacation strategy you are going to use this year, be crystal clear that a vacation will be had. Plan it, arrange it and get it done as if it was as important to you as your work life.
