Destressing in Nature

Nature has a way of healing us. It helps us ground and remain connected to what’s important in life.  Nature reduces stress and improves immune systems.  Nature is amazing. 

As we go about our busy lives, we may find that the only nature that we immerse ourselves in are local parks, the tree lined streets of our neighborhoods or the trees surrounding our kid’s busy extracurricular activities. But, don’t despair, there is enough nature there to keep us going.  

As long as we breathe the fresh air and make it outdoors enough, we’ll remember to find more expansive nature when needed.  Eventually we’ll hear those faraway mountains, oceans and rivers calling us to visit. But, as long as we walk those tree lined neighborhood streets and notice the trees while we shuffle children from activity to activity, we should be able to keep our immune systems going and our stress in check in the meantime.
