The Art of Play
As adults we may find that we don’t play enough. We may get too wrapped up in our jobs and responsibilities that the concept of play does not come to mind.
Luckily, we are always blessed with that one playful person in our life that was placed there just to remind us to play. This person could be a child, a family member or a friend. They are always available to remind you not to take life too seriously and to play more when needed.
Why do adults need to play? Well, life is a serious endeavor. It requires thought, knowledge and work and that can often be overwhelming. Without the basic act of play, life will become, well, stagnant. And a stagnant life is a life full of fear and overwhelm.
Play requires love. It requires joy, peace and heart and that person in your life has an innate gift to spread this life requirement that is so deeply needed. Without play, life is joyless.
So, the next time you find yourself stressed by the responsibilities of life, reach out to that person that loves to play. They will be waiting to help you remember that, while life is full of responsibilities, the true essence of our being requires the simple act of play to be reminded that on of those responsibilities is in fact to have fun.
