Connecting to Nature
Nature inspires us in miraculous ways. It intertwines with our senses and brings us the magic of the Earth and all of its beauty. Its air, its noise and its various temperatures allow us to function daily with happiness and vigor.
And yet, some of us don’t notice. Some of us go about our daily routines and don’t notice the trees and the winds and flowers and the showers. That is, until we do.
When we all are going about our routines without connection, the Earth has a funny way of sending some good weather, or even bad weather, our way to wake us up and call our attention. It does so deliberately. It realizes that we may not have been so attentive to her giving nature and maybe even may have taken too much, so she sends a wake up call to do just that, literally wake us up.
Living on Earth is an equal exchange. The Earth will give and we can take, but we should do so in gratitude and in order to have gratitude we must be aware, present, in our present moments. We must notice, for it is in the noticing that connection occurs and in that connection we not only receive, but we give gratitude for the reception.
So, should we take more than we give, should we take more than we give thanks for, the Earth will remind us to be grateful in her own way. You’ll see a pretty flower, a rainbow, or a beautiful snowfall. You’ll be amazed by her wind, her rain or her humidity. You’ll connect to her sooner or later and be grateful for the chance to be able to do so.
